To promote peace in a short term I a m going to smile to everyone especially my peers in order to establish a calm an friendly environment.
In a long term objective I want to practice my patience and become tolerant with people that have thoughts that go against what I consider to be peaceful.
This two are my my commitment to peace.

Inner Peace
Inner peace is the first thing we have to have in order to achieve true peace in ourselves. For me inner peace is feeling that I have done all I could even if I did not achieve my goal, it is also living without regretting anything and feeling like I do whatever I choose to do because it was I who chose to do it and I did it with passion. For me that is having inner peace, whenever I do not follow this I am not comfortable with myself until I go back and do it again or fixed the error it caused.
Main Reason
Stupidity is the main reason that peace cannot occur. A stupid is not someone who is illiterate or has not had the chance to study. A stupid, according to the dictionary is someone lacking intelligence or common sense. For me a stupid is someone that has had the opportunity to make a positive difference in something and still did not do it for reasons that have no real appeal or strength.
For peace to occur we need to think big and start small, for example the biggest goal I can think is World Peace, yet no one can start acting towards World Peace just like that, it is way too big of a goal, instead we have to start small, let’s say for example smiling or helping others when they need it. Everything would be perfect if as little as ten percent of the people did this and the others did not affect or just went along, but then here comes the problem, stupid people along with their stupid ideas and stupid actions will always exist and they will create problems. The problems they create can be as small as a fight between people or not helping someone else after they got helped, or big problems when they are high in economic or social power, for example leaders in the Middle East like Qaddafi, who is a megalomaniac eccentric soon-to-be ex-ruler of an oppressed nation, whose rule has created pressure among the people in his country and not is in war where people get killed.
But there are not only stupids that do stupid actions; there are also the most dangerous stupids of all, the intelligent stupids. These persons that I am talking about are actually the ones that no one realizes who they are and their effects are not as notorious as other’s acts and still they are the longer lasting effects. I am talking about the media masters, the real bosses and owners of our thoughts, the people that decide what is going to be shown to us in order for them to get control of our thoughts. It is hard to accept that all of our minds are being bombarded by the media with information that leads us to think in a particular way, the way the media master needs us to think. The media master is in fact really intelligent making us stupid and easy to manipulate, still the action done is really stupid since it prevents the rest of us to think as we should and we think the way he needs us to think, which might be in an aggressive way, or even war support. I do not want to say names, but I know of a country that bombards the media with the messages “keep supporting our troops” and another famous slogan which I do not remember quite well but its main idea is to help others sending troops to other places and help the people.
Stupids are the main reason peace is not achievable yet.

Tolerance
Every single person in this planet is different from one another and not because they are different that means we will discriminate and make them feel worthless. If we really want to have a peaceful world we have to start with tolerance, meaning we have to let everyone be as they want to even when we dislike their preferences.
Tolerance is a crucial part if we seek to achieve peace. Personally I can say tolerance is not an easy thing to have in mind and even harder to practice, but once you start the practice the effects it has in your environment are extremely positive.

Lybia and Gadhafi
Libya is one of the Middle East countries where a revolution is taking place. Gadhafi, the current leader of the country, is a militarist, meaning that the way he governs is by the use of the military unlike the rest of the countries that are interdependent with it. These countries which have relationship with him include the US and lots of European nations; Libya’s main resource for trading is oil which makes any intervention into it a very uncomfortable relation which is the main problem right now.
When the habitants of Libya became angry of the oligarchy Colonel Gadhafi had created the internal revolution started and at the beginning it was peaceful like Egypt’s and other countries, but Gadhafi being a militarist and knowing no other way to solve problems involved the military and we all know how military and habitants do when they are in opposite sides.
I want to think that somehow all the strong nations that are affected by this situation will do something to stop this revolution and bring everything back to normal in order to let people live in peace, but I also understand that the first country to act will take the most damage, so that is why all the countries are only defending form Gadhafi’s threats and only answering to any actions the Gadhafi does.
Recently one direct attack was taken by the Gadhafi army and it weakened it almost to the point where I can foresee that they won’t last long and at last they will surrender.
Gadhafi is a particularly a bad and egocentric megalomaniac whose ambitions cannot let him see beyond his nose and realize how he is damaging the people 40 years ago he wanted to defend and protect.

RE: The Coalition for Adolescent Girls
The UN being an international organization with worldwide reach is concerned with peace. Peace is influenced by several things, but one of the most important ones are education and poverty. Both are related, when there is poverty there usually is not enough education for the population meaning that they don’t have enough skills to grow and develop which leads to no wealth grow. The Coalition for Adolescent Girls, an international organization of the UN, has as its main goal to educate young women around the world to be educated enough to be independent and be able to make correct decisions.
The Coalition works by going into the places where these problems occur and builds schools for the young. They try to teach everyone at least to high school, but when girls are old enough to start having babies they are focused on. They are taught independence, how to work, how to say no to men, and other things that will help the girls how to manage a healthy family that will be sustainable.
This organization takes into account how this same problem affects several cultures and tries to teach them in a way that is appropriate for them. In some affiliated countries to this organization the way taught to women is very different to others. For example, let’s say there is a country affiliated to the organization with a religion similar to that of the Middle East, where women don’t have the same rights, labors and obligations as women from a country like US or places near Russia.
The Coalition for Adolescent Girls main goal is to reduce poverty by education. Women are the main piece of society and economy, and as important as they are in lots of places they are not taught correctly how to make decisions, this organization reminds us that women are really important.

Education
What does peace need to exist? Even if war will always exist, it doesn’t mean that it can’t be reduced into a really small portion of the state of war and peace. One of the factors that make peace be a larger fraction is education. If people are thought how to be civilized and solve dispute in more peaceful ways others than guns and killing, war will maintain in a really small piece of the state and that is where, without a doubt, want to live.
One major fear I have regarding this solution, is that it might become the main problem. Humans are ruled by money, and let’s say that our main goal as a civilization is to be as peaceful as possible, but what happens when both of this are combined, will it create a mentality where making peace equals making money? This kind of situation will only lead to problems.
We have to really understand what peace is about in order to teach it correctly.
